Custom Orthotics Bankstown NSW

What Are Orthotics?

Orthotics are customised insoles to suit the specific patient’s foot. Use of these as part of a treatment plan is referred to as orthotic therapy.

At Bankstown Podiatry Clinic we can custom make and tailor our orthotics to suit your foot and its diagnosed condition.

Human feet were designed to walk on natural and soft surfaces, like sand and grass, which accommodates to the shape the foot. However, as time and technology progressed, humans began to walk on hard surfaces (concrete), which ultimately led to foot and lower limb problems from overuse and excess strain.

These problems can be easily corrected by our podiatric specialists through orthotic therapy.

What Do Orthotics Do?

The aim of an orthotic is to place the foot in its optimal position throughout activity therefor reducing the stress and strain caused by structural problems on the feet and lower legs. It is basically a mechanical device that changes the ground to suit the foot.

Orthotics are used by our podiatrists to treat a range of conditions such as flat feet, heel pain and knee pain.

If you have any questions about our orthotics, or would like a pair, feel free to drop by our Bankstown office for a friendly consultation, or contact us today.

“I Was in terrible pain from constant flare up with plantar fasciitis. Doctor explained and showed me why I had the pain and prepared a specially made insole. I’ll be honest I thought twice about purchasing the insole , now it’s just two months later , I’m walking everyday and sometimes I can run and the pressure has eased of my feet , hips and knees . I honestly never thought I could train again the way I used to and it’s all to doctors great knowledge. I was in excruciating pain and had cortisone injection a year earlier and nothing worked . A tip for insoles is I wear them under my sneaker insole so I have the cushioning I need. Best podiatrist ever !!! Thank you”
